For more than 20 years, I have been working in various capacities as a writer and editor for both print and digital publications, as well as an information architect on several projects. My writing has appeared in such publications as The Village Voice, Paste, CMJ New Music Monthly, and The Willamette Week, and my work has won awards from The Association of Alternative Newsweeklies, the Ohio Society of Professional Journalists, and The Cleveland Press Club.

I’ve also worked on websites for Anyway Records and Otterbein University, and helped develop the American Museum of Natural History’s Explorer navigation app.

Currently, I work full-time as Senior Features Writer for DealNews. I also run a music webzine, The Agit Reader, and write a blog aimed at Ohio ex-pats living in New York City, OhioNYC.com. Additionally, I contribute to The Big Takeover and CMJ.com.

I live in Brooklyn with Josie Rubio and our two cats. My favorite color is brown and my favorite song of all-time is “Sister Ray” by the Velvet Underground.
